Work at factories, nurses, fill the jobs the men had to leave to go to war, and fill the new jobs which came with the war industry.... pplanes, weapons, tires, etc...

I'd say that varied as much as the women who held them. There was the Rosie the Riveter group (which some women's studies classes will tell you that's ALL there was)...women working in factories to pick up the slack left by men fighting overseas. There were also housewives, women who went to serve themselves in the WACS and the Nurses Corps and the like, and so on. Asking a question like that is like asking the same question today..really depends on the woman.

They supported the men who supported the war efforts that supported our freedoms in this country....my how things have changed.

Now we have politicians in office who would have been hung for treason in those days - and then there is Hillary - oh Hillary - maybe she should just hang herself....a duet with Obama, even.
