Almost all geographical zones have evergreens of some type. Hemlocks (Tsuga canadensis) was originally found in N.America, it's reach is from southern Appalachians north thru Canada and includes the Rockies. Europe has it's own species, but it is very similar. Cypress and Arborvitaes tolerate more heat than some, so you will find them in more temperate climates.
