I am FREAKING OUT!!?
I am a straight E student at high school and for my 3rd quater science teacher, i was assigned a disorganized science teacher.
each day, she has the class put our home works into a messy pile on her desk. each day when i walk in, that is the first thing i do. on friday she was giving out homw work and i did not get my assignment back (i needed it to study for a test). i talked to her after class, and she told me that she did not get my assignment. i told her that i did it and handed it in on time. she said she would check in another pile she had at home with the other unchecked assignments from different classes (at the same time, over the weekend i searched my entire house but remained unsuccessful). today i asked her if she found it and she said no that i did not do it. so now im going to get penalized for a late assignment. MY HEART SANK WHEN I WAS ACCUSED FOR MISSING AN ASSIGNMENT!! PLZ HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!

teachers dont really trust their students, because there are other students out their that use the "i handed in my home work on time" as an excuse when they realy didnt hand it in.

i just feel so stressed with the thought of me missing an assignment.

First of all, I feel so bad for you!

Second of all, make sure your parents are aware of this. (Sounds like they are- good girl!)
Then I would have your mother call the school principal and explain what is going on, and what's been going on with the messy classroom, messy teacher and unorganized class.

Its not fair to you and she obviously needs at least a warning from HER boss. And if you think s this might happen in the future again, I would show your mom you did your homework, make a photocopy of it (and if you want have your mom date and sign it) or keep a copy in your computer files.....

Also, when you give in your assignment to your teacher, make sure she acknowledges it from now on.

You sound like a very responsible young lady and seems like you'll get far ahead in life, possibly more than your teacher!
Congrats!

First of all, I used to freak out if I missed an assignment. You have to remember that one missed assignment is not the end of the world. It most likely won't affect your grade too much as long as you're doing your work the rest of the time. In the mean time if the teacher lost your assignment and refuses to let you make it up, schedule a meeting with the principal and express your concern that your teacher's disorganization is affecting students in the classroom. Hopefully your principal will show concern and have a discussion with that teacher. Even if it doesn't help your grade for the one assignment, hopefully it will help you in the future and others in the future as well. Just remember, it was just one assignment, not the end of the world, things will work out in the end.

I'm so sorry to hear that u have a whacked out messy teacher, however, since your parents seem to not be able to go up there, have them give her a call about your assignments and how her disorganization is causing you distress. what I'd also suggest is that u make a chart with all of the HW assigments and their due dates and have your teacher sign off on them each time you submit them, that way there is proof that you've completed the assignment and turned it in on time(absolutely no way she can deny that u didn't turn it in because her signature says otherwise). also keep a copy of the HW for yourself. make copies of the assignments before you turn them in so that way if you do not get it back (very unfortunate) you'll have that extra copy. if these methods do not work u might have to go to the chairperson for that particular dept or either the principal! ok! something is going on in this woman's life, just find out how you can best deal with the situation to reduce your anxiety ok! TALK TALK TALK to your parents about this more ok! they have a vested interest in your well being ok!

The same thing happened to me in college. I was so upset, since it was a paper that was worth a lot and the professor lost it. Anyway, perhaps your parents can call and talk to the teacher and if they can't get anywhere there, then they can talk to the principal, who can make the teacher look harder for that assignment.

I have a question, though. You said your a straight "E" student. Isn't that bad, like failing, since "A" is the best and "E" or "F" is the worst? Just curious. At any rate, good luck!

DON'T Yell at your teacher. I found that out the hard way, you always lose, cause they always think they are right. I am not quite sure about a solution for this prob. but I can tell you how to stop it from happening again.
Make a copy!!! No matter if you have to write it by hand, or you can type it, If you keep a copy, you can prove you did it, just make sure you put the word "Duplicate" on your work, to prove it is a copy.

Try asking her to get a folder or bin for the homework to be put in so this doesn't happend again. For the loss of the assingment, are you sure someone didn't take it and put their name on your work? Always right in pen. I would also ask the teacher to check one more time. Plus if you have to redo it, you'll rember the material more. Okay that's all I can try to help you with. Hope it helps : )

talk to the principle, if you really think this teacher is THAT disorgaized then theres a problem. but first make sure you arent the only one that thinks this way. if there is already an outcry of kids mad at her, then the principle has to take action. just make sure that you are anoymous then you tell the principle, because she might "make a mistake" on your grades. after you tell the principle and if nothing happenes then ask your parents to make a note or better yet, a phone call to the principle or the teacher herself. i recommend the teacher herself because the principle has other things to worry about.

Wow.........I think you need to calm down. An assignment is an assignment. No use crying over spilt milk. Have your mom call to confirm ur work on the assignment. Teachers slink down at parent participation!

Have you tried helping your teacher find it?
If your so worried why don't you talk to someone to switch you out of that class to another.

(maybe you could redo it and put in some pile and then she'll find it later and she'll have to apologize for not believing you?)
