I found out i was pregnant last Weds. I made a drs appt for the next day b/c i was taking Zocor and Cymbalta. She stopped me cold turkey on the cymbalta. She said it's probably OK to wean off of it, but she preferred I just stopped all together. She told me that the OB could possibly put me back on it but to stop for now. I was taking Cymbalta for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after having a mini stroke at age 31. I am detoxing from it but she told me that even with weaning off the cymbalta you would still go thru withdrawal. Definitely talk to your dr first then decide what to do. I have noticed it's getting easier each day - it's just this weird dizzy feeling - like if you've forgotten a dose of your meds - that weird feeling you get that lets you know you missed a dose - it's like that but a whole lot worse! I don't mean to scare you - just what's been going on. To make matters worse - the baby decided that it was time for the nausea to set in so i'm nauseated on top of dizzy! LOL Keep hydrated - i've found the more water i drink, the less the withdrawal symptoms are. I heard they last about a week or so. I was only on it for a few months and on a low dose, so that could be different for other people. Good luck to you!

I am 25weeks pregnant and I am still taking my antidepresant (Ciprimil 40mg per day). I was worried when I first fell pregnant but I checked with my GP and my psychiatrist and they both said it's fine. It think it's much better to stay on your antidepressant while you are pregnant because if you stress out or panic or anything it will stress the baby out. I haven't heard of the antidepressants you are on so maybe just double check that they are okay and if not maybe you may have to change to another one. I know what it's like to stop antidepressants abrubtly and it's horrible and I don't think you need that kind of added pressure while you are pregnant. Take Care :-)

Only your Doctor should answer this one for you. If you are pregnant that will hopefully be enough for you and hold you up in regards not being depressed while pregnant! I wish you the best! Good luck!
28 weeks, 6 days with my first!

NO NO NO!!! Don't stop. If you are pregnant then tell your doctor what you are on. They will switch you to a safer one if the one you are on is not as safe. I take Effexor XR and my doctor told me that a healthy mom is just as important as a healthy baby. BTW... I tried stopping my medications when I found out I was pregnant.....BAD MOVE. I thought my doctor was gonna kill me. Keep taking them and if/when you find out you are pregnant put in a call to your doctor. You will be fine!

No you should definitely not stop taking them abruptly. Call your doctor as son as possible. They can determine which meds are safe to stay on or, if needed, switch you to one that is better during pregnancy. Good luck hon!

You need to stop both medications and it specifically says concerning the Welbutrin that it is not to be taken if pregnant.Make a appt with the doctor who prescribed and discuss your situation and if any help is available to ease withdrawals.
