ok, i suddenly wake up with my throat killing me. i cannot swallow, and it hurts me when i talk. (which is a good thing to some)
it isnt a regular cold. what could it be?

Don't know, but sleep with a humidifier running in your bedroom & use your voice as little as possible until better.
Take goldenseal/echinacea, too. Or Olive Leaf.

You should get this checked by your doc, more than likely strep throat. Or if you are having anxiety issues it could be related to breathing through your mouth at night and all the extra gasping is the cause.

do you sleep with your mouth open,it could possibly because it is drying out and that is why it hurts and cant swallow maybe keep a glass of something by your bed and when it happens try drinking a mouthful

probably a simple case of strept throat, or possibly tonsilitis. Go see a doctor.
