I once used two old magazines and some masking tape to make a splint for a kid that broke his ankle. He fell off a skateboard in the hallway of a building where I worked. The ER nurses were most impressed by my splint.I wrapped one magazine around the back of the heel and taped it in place, and put the other one around the bottom of the foot, and taped it in place.
