I had jaundis pretty bad when I was born, I was under the light for about a week. The doctor told my mother that I would never be able to give blood as an adult because of it. My question is, because of this condition as a child, would that show up in blood tests today, I am 29, enough to be rejected for life insurance?

A lot of babies have jaundice that bad when they are born; most of them get over it by being under the lights as you were.

However, it does not keep you from giving blood - the doctor gave your mom bad advice.

Unless you have jaundice right now, it will not show up in a blood test of any type.

Don't worry.

Neonatal jaundice is caused by a breakdown of the fetal form of hemoglobin faster than our body can process it. It is a normal process. There is probably nothing today that would show up on a physical or lab test.
