I think they could make it to the playoffs, because they're going to score a lot of runs and they have a good, deep bullpen. I don't think they'll get far if they make it though, because that weakness would be exposed in October.

No!! The Phillies will win the NL East. The Mets pitching will not hold up for an entire season. Phillies are hungry and with Garcia in their rotation the Mets can wave good bye as the Phillies will blow right by them early in the season and never look back. The Mets might make the playoffs but the will NOT win the East.

If they do make the playoffs, it will only be as a wild card. They don't have the pitching to keep up with Philadelphia, who should win the East. I predict another dogfight in the West between LA and SD. Whoever doesn't win the division will be the wild card, as last year. That leaves the Mets out. Glavine is worn out, Martinez is injury-prone, and the rest of the staff is just not that good.
No playoffs at Shea this year.

I believe so. I believe Tom Glavine is coming back for another year with NY and He is very solid for a seasoned veteran and I'm not sure if Pedro Martinez is going to be healthy but if he is then he is always electric. Also El Duque(Orlando Hernandez) was very strong last year and he posted a decent 11-11 record last year. John Maine Played Great in the Playoffs Last year but I'm not sure if it was Beginners luck or if he has potential. Also Billy Wagner is Still one of the best closers in baseball and is the best easily in the NL with a Solid 40 saves last season.

Absolutely. I think that the braves will have another sub-par year and the Phillies have a way of never getting past NY or ATL. I think because of the division and their stellar offense that NY will definately see the playoffs.

NO WAY!!! They play the Cardinals their first couple of games this season, and they play them a couple of more times during the year. I'm going to have to say that maybe next year, we'll even think of considering the Mets as a contender

Mets have some great hitting but I do think the rotation will be their undoing this year. I pick the Phillies.

If that lineup can produce another 800 runs like it did last year they will have a decent chance of winning the division again.
