I need help can someone tell me this poem?

Question

Theres this poem that i received through email years back and im looking for it now. Its about a high school boy who is fed up with life so he clears he's locker and goes on to kill himself, he meets a guy who becomes his friend. when graduating he tells the story how his friend he met saved him on that afternoon from killing himself when he makes a speach on graduation day. I love this poem /story and im looking for it can someone please kindly submitt it for me..Thanks

At that link (snopes) you will find the email version then beneath it a story of how it got started. A story called "A simple Gesture" by John W. Schlatter was what may have been the origin. The original appears in the 1993 bestseller, Chicken Soup for the Soul.
