The oldest known tortoise died last year. It was at least 150 years old, but may have been closer to 250. However, this pales in comparison to the oldest bacterium, which is about 250 million years old (if you consider suspended animation to be life). See the links.

I think that goes to the galapacos tortoise. I think one is sitll alive in London that Darwin brought back or it just recently died. My spelling is probably wrong. I was right but it was Australia check it out very interesting.
