Honestly I have never heard of this at all.. that is weird.. but yes you can vacuum as long as you are not lugging the vacuum around the whole house or trying to carry it upstairs... goodluck

I think it's just an old wives tale just to try to make our husbands/boyfriends get off their butt and give us a hand with the housework when we are pregnant.
I did the vacuuming my entire pregnacy, even as I was going into labour. Nothing wrong with my baby. If you feel you need to do it by all means go ahead, but if you can make your man do it, just don't tell him that no vacuuming while pregnant is just an old wives tale!!!!

I read recently that its just uncomfortable to sweep the floor with broom or vacuum in the 3rd trimester because of all the weight in the front. It has to do with your back, and how well its holding up. If you don't have back pain then sweep away, but personally I get a kick out of seeing my hubby with a broom in his hand.

If you feel like vacuuming, then go right ahead! There is nothing unsafe about it. When you hit the nesting stage, you will want to clean everything, carpet included.

its a great scam if u can get away with not doin any housework!....seriously...just do as much as u can.if u get tired or feel like uv done too much.stop and rest.never heard of that in particular.

I've never heard of that. Sounds kind of silly. Unless your doctor tells you not to, there's no need to stop vacumming, sorry hun!

ha ha - i am 38 weeks pregnant and was just considering that i might vacuum this arve................i am finding excuses not to though as i am just too fat but i need to do it so i will.
