Currently I am a sophomore with a gpa of 2.7. I got an A+ on biology, c in chemistry 1 B- in Chemistry 2 and a B- in Organic one and a C in Calculus. and fair grades in other classes. WOuld retaking classes be a good idea. Any suggestion on any classes that i should take that would strengthen my pharmacy application in about two years when i apply would be helpful. . I work at walgreens and i have another job at a restuarant and i am part of several clubs in college. I am planning of doing some volunteering in the pharmacy.
If you know someone who have been in my situation and has gotten in pharmacy school please let me know. I need all the advice and suggestions i can get. I am not the smartest tool in the shed by i am trying my best to get a 3.5 or above gpa this semester.

I got accepted into a university with a 2.8 cumulative GPA. All I had to do was write an additional letter with my application explaining my grades. Fortunately my grades were bad as a Freshman and got better throughout the years so that was a good selling point. Another thing you can say to help explain your grades is other duties you have in life like taking care of your family.

If this doesn't work what you can do is go to community college.
Most community college's have a degree in pharmacy. You can just go there and get the pharmacy degree or you can go there for a year or two and then transfer into a university. It is much easier to transfer from community college to a university than it is to from high school to university. Also, your GPA doesn't matter when applying for community college, neither does your SAT. Basically anyone can get in.

To be truthful, this doesn't look good. There was a recent article in the paper here that said that our local state university pharmacy college accepted only 90 of 1000 applicants. The GPA and SAT average for the kids entering the school of pharmacy was the highest of any group on campus, even higher than the pre-med kids.

I would have a backup plan ready, if I were you. Sorry.

I would just recommend calling the pharmacy school and ask! Sometimes classes are formed based on previous grades, an entrance exam or both. Find out what the acceptance criteria are and then act accordingly..good luck!

Retake the classes you got a C in. However, to be even a marginal candidate, you need a 3.0, to be a truly competitive candidate, 3.4. A lot of schools view your organic chem grades as the most important.

Try and get it around 3.0 to have some shot. I know someone who made it with a GPA around 3.0. There's an interview for you to make a good impression on.
