It's Awesome!! You should love it here, it is really diverse, I have never had a racist experience in all my life, because Seattle welcomes all cultures! Its beautiful here, sure we could have a rainy day, but you might learn to love the rain! and It doesnt rain all that much! there is tons of stuff to do here as a teen, lots of parks with trails if you like the outdoors, theatre if you like broadway quality shows (west side story is coming in march, I cant wait!), gameworks if you like arcade style fun, seattle center rides and carnival games...the fun never ends! and in the summer time the fun level triples with sea-fair! you will love it here. I went to west seattle high school and I loved it, do you know where you are going to go? post it up I could give you the scoop!!

What a bunch of crap that it rains all the time. It does not! Sure, it rains in the winter and spring, but in the summer and fall it's gorgeous. And there's nothing like a cool, clear winter day when you can see the Olympics off to the west. Hey, I'm looking at the Space Needle out my window right now and it's not raining, OK?

Seattle is a great city, pretty liberal, great library system and lots of fun things to do. There is a fairly good underage music scene and if you are into outdoor-sy things (camping, hiking, etc) you'll be right at home. As for the schools...well...it depends on where you'll be living. Seattle schools are seriously lacking for money but other areas like Renton or Shoreline or Bellevue are great. You'll be fine. What a huge change for you! You don't say where you're coming from, though. Maybe you could get a couple of travel books at the library now and read up on the city and surrounding area. Best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto on the first question. Seattle does have alot of rain and is mostly over cast but if you can wait it out till the summer you will be very pleased. Seattle and western Washington offers quite possibly the best summers in the world. It doesn't get dark till ten even eleven at night, the air is clean and mostly sunny with mild temperatures and there is alot of outdoor activities to do. The main reason Seattle gets a bad rap is because most people haven't traveled that far out and if they have they have only been there during the many days that it is raining. But when it is not raining it is absoulutly beautiful. Unlike LA where I live now where the air is polluted, and everything is dying, fake and has too many people clogging up the roads. I think Seattle is the most beautiful city in the US.

There are some school districts that are consistently the best in the nation. The Bellevue school district almost always has 3 out of the 4 high schools in the Newsweek top 100 schools. But there are also some not so good school districts.
The weather isn't as bad as everyone believes. There are a lot of cloudy days with fog and light rain, but the total rainfall actually isn't that much. It is very mild with usual highs in the winter around 45 and highs in the summer around 80.

im 18 years old girl and I live in Seattle my whole life and i love it! especially if you head down to downtown Seattle because you see a lot of people dressing up in cool clothes! You also meet some interesting characters. I heard there is an art institution near the pike place market or around there if your interested ... that would be a great place for college since you'll be around a lot of people. Over the summer its even better! alot of people and family and things to do. Its like living in a romantic movie! I know it sounds corney but i hope you know what i mean.. with all the buildings and lights combine with the cold weather. if you wanna live there make sure you get an apartment in downtown or china town! its cheaper. china town is not even far... its takes about 10-15 mins to get down there when you walk. im deff moving there when i head to university. i have to take the metro bus and its pretty adventurous. the night life is fun too! i went there today and im going again tomorrow to go job hunting! it takes about 30mins to an hour depending on which bus you take. they just also invented a light rale so you can get there quicker!! The bad thing about Seattle is that its mainly a cloudy/rain/cold area. I dont know if thats a bad thing for you but i like it since fall and winter is my season! i hope i helped.!

Seattle is a pretty cool city. In general, the people here are laid back, very politically minded and health-conscience.

Not sure about the schools, since I moved here after college.

Weather is rainy in the winter, mild & sunny in the summer, and temperatures are pretty mild too. Usually 40's in the winter and 70's in the summer, with a few really cold or hot days and maybe one or two days of snow a year...which is pretty cool because everything shuts down.

Sorry to hear about your parents divorce, I hope you can adjust to life here quickly!!

I was stationed in Tacoma WA. and have traveled to Seattle many times. It is a nice place. People are friendly and the area is quite clean. If you like hiking Mt. Rainer is a great place. For skiing the area is great.the only down side is the rain. It does rain alot there. But like any other place it's what you make of it.

The weather here is fairly moderate. It rains and is pretty gloomy in the winter months (much like other northern states, but without the snow), but spring, summer and fall are usually very sunny and beautiful. DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO TELL YOU IT RAINS HERE ALL THE TIME. It's not true...

The schools are very good here and far more advanced than where I went to school.

I hope you like it here...there is lots of beautiful scenery - trees, water, clean air, snowy mountains, etc. The city itself is a good mix of old-fashioned/historical & new/modern.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I visted Seattle once, it is very, very beautiful. The only down fall is that it rains....all the time. And I am not kidding. They have the highest suicide rate in America becuase it is always overcast and raining. Other than that, it is very nice there.
