You'd become twice as heavy. Your muscles would become bigger, and your bones would become denser.

In order:
If you increase gravity by a factor of 2, you would weigh twice as much, as Weight is calculated by Mass (measured in Newtons) multiplied by Acceleration due to Gravity (at sea level on earth this is 9.81ms2, but normally approximaed to 10 for simplicity). So double the gravitational force, double the weight.
If you were to increase gravity by x2 when training you would get double the benefit for any work carried out (only in a vertical plane though, as gravity does not affect work carried out horizontally) and would find everything (including your limbs) twice as hard to lift.
Mentally not much would happen as you would quickly adjust to what is a minor increase in gravity. Larger increases would cause dissiness, disorientation and finally blacking out, as your blood would also weigh more and thus be harder to pump to and from your brain.
It is bossible to recreate the effects, simply sit in any veichle which accelerates you at a rate of approx 19~20 Ms2, a fast car, an aeroplane or a roller coaster will recreate this.
(NB: Ms2 = Metres Per Second Squared)

well first off increasing gravity is possible, and if you were training under these conditions you body would increase in strengthen quicker than if subjected to natural gravity. although you would feel pain ( soreness ) because you would be carry 70-80 percent more weight around. doing this would dramatically increase your strengthen put I'm not quiet sure it will make you look more fit, even so remember with all workout routines you would need rest or you will eventually have negative effects.

The body unless you are WAY out of shape can withstand 4.5 to 5 G's. G = 1 gravity by Earths standard. 2G's you weigh twice what you weigh now. linda like a good hangover. At around 5 G's for someone who is untrained to withstand G's the heart has a hard time pumping blood to the brain and you black out. pass out. that is assuming you are under positive G. A trained pilot can go as high a 8 to 9 G's for a limited amount of time. If the G's are negitive = Lifting you up. Flying upside down. The at as little a 3 G's you can begin to "Red out". Red out = To much blood in the head which can become dangerious very fast. Causes nose bleeds and blood vessels to burs in you eye at first thats why its called a red out you can see it happening. go beyond that and burst something in your head then your finished.

Increasing gravity increases the amount of pull on your body ie you would feel as if you weighed twice as much.
Yes, you can do it - fighter pilots and astronauts pull G forces (multiples of gravity) while training to fly jets and shuttles. The military and NASA have very sophisticated equipment that replicates the gravity forces.

If you had access to a centrifuge the person operating it could crank up the G force until you passed out, it has been done, you may find some facts on the net if you do a search.

It probably wouldn't affect you mentally, but it would eventually cause things on your body to sag more, and grow a bit differently. Your body would adapt and offset this to some degree. It would also be harder to walk until you built your strength up.

your muscular mass will reduce drastically, leading to a consistent loss of energy(power). The cerebrum will be affected at certain percentage, leading to dysfunction of the brain cells in the worse case.
