They are trying to prove what everyone already knows which is that the Bush administration was as leaky as the Titanic on Valerie Plame and Scooter Libby just had the bad luck to be the fall guy. And Dick(Head) Cheney doesn't have the balls to stand up for his man.

Don't get your news from the TV. They have been misreporting everything about the case from day one.

You are correct the exposing Valerie Plame is not what he is charged with, but it IS what he was tried for. The prosecution claims he lied more that 6 months into an investigation of who gave the name to the press even though they knew who it was 2 days into the investigation. The so called lie involves forgetting details that none of the witnesses seem to remember either.

Because if it's OK to justify lying under oath on the premise that the lie was about a ******* that actually happened, it should be OK to justify lying under oath on the prmise that the lie was about a crime that didn't actually happen.
