so judges at tryouts always look for smiles. if you look like your having fun it wont matter if you suck. use really cute facials. also stretches are very important for kicks. touch your toes and hold it for 20 seconds. do a straddle and hold each stretch for 20 seconds. i usually stretch while watching TV or while I'm studying. just keep practicing and you will get good trust me. practice smiling while do kicks in front of the mirror. if you feel stupid for too many facials you are doing them right... thats what my coach always tell us before a competition. you will be nervous and might forget so just make sure that whenever you practice the routine or kicks you are using facials, then they will come naturally. i know how much I'm talking about facials and thats because they truly are one of the most important things. good luck. i am sure you will do fine. and if you dont make it dont worry theres always next year. show lots of spirit!!!

Coaches don't necessarily want the best dancers on a team. Sure, having a good dancing background helps immensely, but in the long run, what coaches really want to see is a person with a positive attitude and who is willing to work hard. Always keep a smile on your face through the good times and the bad, and offer encouragement to the others at the tryouts. Even when you think nobody is watching, somebody will always notice when a kind act is done to help somebody else, someone like a coach! <3

Coaches will look for ability, flexiblity, stamina, and memory for steps. Most of all and importantly, they will look for spirit and heart. If you are giving it you best and are pretty good, they will most likely take you over the best dancer who just doesn't care. Make sure you are always smiling when you dance. That's one of the most important things to making the dance team. Good luck.
