I think the Braves are coming back to the top. You only have 7 innings to beat them now that Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano and coming into the game in front of Bob Wickman. Kelly Johnson will easily replace Marcus Giles at 2B. So the answer is probably yes.

I am a hugeeee Braves fan and I am going to say yes, they will be on top of the NL East this season. The only thing that can stop them would be pitching. In the first half of the season they were a combined 48-56. That is including a horrible month of June where they were 6-21. In the second half of the season they were 39-34. They had very young pitchers last season and I believe they will begin to step up like they did at the end of the season. They also have a very solid returning line-up. They will have Langerhanns in left, Andrew Jones in center, and Francoeur in right. In the infield, you have chipper Jones, Renteria, Thorman or Wilson at first, McCann behind the plate. The real only questionable spot is at second base where they have Prado, Johnson and Woodward fighting for the spot. They have smoltz, Hudson and Hampton on the mound and two promissing young guys in James who was 11-3 last year and Davies who came on strong at the end of the season. It will be tough though because the Mets are very solid again but I think we can pull it out as long as our young pitchers step up.

The Braves will finish 3rd behind the Phillies and Mets. The Phillies will win the NL East and will eventually win the pennant. They will face the Yankees in the World Series.

They don't have a snowballs chance in hell of finishing at the top. Especially after dealing LaRoche. The Mets are again the best team in the East, and the Braves have a mediocore pitching staff at best.

No.
Sorry, but the NY Mets have that honor.
I apologize for any inconvience this may cause, but the braves 15 minutes of shame ( er, i mean fame) is over.
Time to pass it along.

No I am sorry. I think they have a below average offense to go with a below average pitching staff.

No they will not. They are saving their money so don't expect them to do to well. Wait until next year and they will use their money. They will get good players and be really good.
