He seems to be healthy otherwise. There is one uncle who who has lost some of his hair and he's only about 42 yrs. old. Other than that, there's no baldness pattern in the family.

He is healthy otherwise. He doesn't have a virus that we know of. He has good hygeine. The hair loss is only on top of his head, not on eyebrows, not over the rest of his body. The only uncle who has lost some hair is on his father's side of the family.

Actually, male pattern baldness doesn't rely on having relatives with the condition. The gene for this type of baldness is carried by the mother (but doesn't affect her). If the uncle has this, then chances are pretty good that the mother has it (if it is a true uncle and not a great-uncle, then he is her brother and carries similar DNA, possibly including the genetics for baldness). There are probably other conditions that may cause this, but that would be my bet. My grandfather started losing his hair in high school... it really isn't that uncommon!

Look at your Mom's Dad & her brothers. If they are bald; you will be, too.
A guys' hair follows the hair pattern of the men on the Mother's side of the family.

it could just be genetics. known some healthy guys that started going bald in early 20s. if its all over his body and eyebrows could be alopecia. he should speak to physician. it could also be stress or drug related.
