Whats there to do in Miami besides beaches for a family.?

I live in miami, thus I can help you with this.

If you really want to experience miami, and its culture, go to the little havana area. Watch out because most people will speak spanish initially. This area is a really hispanic place, and you can find great cheap cuban cooking. Avoid tourist Hispanic restaurants, they are a waste of money. This area is great, check our Domino Park but becareful because old guys will challenge you at this what seems simple game.

A great restaurant which is in the kendall part of miami is Rio de Crystal, it is a great restaurant to fully appreciate cuban cooking, and the portions are huge, I eat alot and you can easily share the dish, but it is soo good that you probably wouldn't want to. Best of all its cheap!

If you want to go shopping where the locals go, check out Dolphin Mall, It is a big mall and has lots of stores, It is relatively new so it still is very nice, they have some good restaurants, If you want to splurge a little try Texas de Brazil, the food is really good, but if you want a hispanic meal you could go to mojitos. They also have a movie theatre and a bowling alley in this mall.

If you have kids, consider the zoo, it is newly renovated and is huge, there is lots to see and it even has a giraffe feeding station which is quite good. It might be a bit touristy but it is very underrated.

If you want to go the beach, (try to avoid going during the winter due to jelly fishes and man of wars), consider going to Crandon Park, It is located in Key Biscayne and it is a great place to spend a nice afternoon in the beach, pass by a local supermarket and buy some food and use the Barbeques provided. It makes a really nice and enjoyable day. Even if you arent going in the water you could rent bikes and ride around the park, or walk along their nature trails.

If you want to go to the Richer part of town consider going down miracle mile in coral gables, or spend a day in bal harbour, but this will prove expensive.

If you are here sometimes from november to may, consider going to this place in homestead, we all call out the amish but its not really them, Its a great place to get very delicious cinnamon rolls, and awesome shakes. It is well worth the drive.

If you want to have a good time consider Bayside market place, it is located near the ocean and has great (mostly chain) restaurants but also has a food court if you want to eat cheap. Its a nice place to spend the evening. They always have live performers and music going on. It is a guranteed good time. They also have boats that take you around the waters for 2 hours. During the day time they take you on a tour of the houses of the rich and famous, but at night they are party boats that include dancing for about $10-15 bucks per person.

If you are visiting miami you really need a car, do not depend on public transportation.

If you happen to be in Miami on the last friday of the month stop by Viernes Cultarales in little havana. It is a large thing that they close the streets and have lots of local artists display their art, lots of music playing, people sitting outside of small cafes, small local concerts. It is an enjoyable afternoon. I promise there won't be lots of tourists there. It is very family friendly.

There is nothing in miami like a University of Miami game, if they are playing try to get some tickets, its a very enjoyable experience if you are into sports, the spirit is like nothing else.

Coconut grove is a bit touristy but is nice.

During the christmas season this place Santa's Enchanted Forest is up, it is basically like a fair. It has lots of rides and overpriced yet awesome food.

If you want to go clubbing I must agree Miami Beach is the place to be. Lots of locals actually go to Miami Beach clubs. I am not much of a clubber but most people I know go club jumping in South Beach.

If you want to get away and go to a better beach than Miami Beach with less torists consider the 99 miles drive to Marco Island, its a great way to spend a weekend relaxing at the beach.

I must admit most locals go to somewhat touristy places.

If you like Italian food check out the Big cheese, its a family owned italian restaurant, everything is delicious, its not to far from Sunset Place, it is an open mall that has a Gameworks. The bodies exhibition is there now but will leave in March.

If you want to pay a little more for food go to this restuarant called Casa Juancho, it has food and entertainment.

Honestly if you want to get a real flavor of latin culture your best bet is the little havana area, viernes culturales is really awesome too.

The Metro Zoo is great. There's a Seaquarium on Biscayne Bay. There's the Vizcaya house. There's tons to do - just look around the 'net for ideas.

i did not initiate ingesting/doing drugs till my mid 20s. i grow to be a previous due bloomer i wager. it is what I did at the same time as i grow to be a teen. We possibly would are growing to be in large difficulty if stuck so i does no longer propose that. 6. bypass to the arcade - i don't think of those exist anymore 7. HS football/basketball video games That grow to be about it. Like I suggested, i did not initiate partying troublesome till I were given out of faculty and were given an effective interest. Now I drink and drug it up as a lot as i want. I basically needed to get the authentic stuff out of how first. I even do not have any issue with responsible adults partying, yet those youngsters are idiots. you are able to get mutually each and every time. you've in trouble-free terms were given one shot at turning out to be up and making some thing of your self.
