I had this procedure also, it will definitely take more than 5 days for you to heal,(I don't care what your doctor said)! It will take more like 6 to 8 weeks to recover, then you may have some pain from gas build-up after that, you can always see another gynecologist, if you don't feel comfortable with this doctor even though they performed this operation!

more then likely you are still experiencing discomfort because they had to lyse (take down) quite a bit of adhesions. this can cause a lot of discomfort and healing varies among patients, depending on your pain threshold. i would suggest you give it another few days. if you start experiencing change in bowel habits, run a temperature, or the pain worsens, call your doctor immediately. generally there is no pain or discomfort from the hysterectomy or D&C.

This is FANTASTIC!! Pretty quickly, even the gradual, closed-minded states just like the splendid one I reside in (Louisiana) will comply with swimsuit. Maybe... now that I believe approximately it... Louisiana, Arkansas, perhaps no longer such a lot!

Jeez!!!! SEE another doctor!!
Get some pain meds, and get a 2nd opinion.
I cannot believe your doctor said 5 days to heal!!!
I was in the hospital 5 days for my hysterectomy!!!
I took 6 weeks off from work, medical paid leave back in the late 1970's early 80's.
My gosh!!! you had major surgery!!
Do they do it vaginally or c-section type scar??
that is so painful!
I felt tearing and pulling 6 weeks after my hysterectomy and coudn't even go up stairs.
Please take it slow.
HONESTLY-- WE KNOW OUR OWN BODIES, AND it's your feelings, not the doctor's text book!!!
everybody is different.
********Look my ANSWER to the KNEE question!!****

I would go to the ER and get some pain med, an ultra sound,
and be the hypoCond.
Best to be safe than sorry!!!!!
It's your body, go back to the doctor and tell her to put it on your chat in writing that you are requesting pain meds, and an ultra sound....that you want her to write on your medical chat that you are requesting _________&______________ and that she does not feel that they are needed at this time.
believe me, you don't even have to add "and that she does not feel that they are needed at this time."
NO DOCTOR IS GONNA PUT IN WRITING ON ANY MEDICAL CHART THAT A PATIENT REQUESTED TESTS, PAIN MEDS, A RECHECK, ETC. W/O BEING SCARED OF LAW SUIT
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET YOUR DOCTOR TO DO WHAT YOU NEED DONE.
BE PROACTIVE.
BE ASSERTIVE
IT'S YOUR BODY!
MY Dad's oncologist taught me how to deal with "difficult" doctors and how to get them to do what i needed.
you have to ask them to write it in YOUR chart THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING __________ AND THAT THEY ARE REFUSING.
THEY WIILL IMMEDIATELY WRITE YOU AN ORDER FOR THE SONAGRAM, GIVE YOU PAIN PILLS, DO THE TESTS YOU REQUEST.
to be proactive, you have to have a list of what you need to talk about, and ask for, and don't take NO for an answer.
ALWAYS TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU INTO THE EXAM ROOM, AND HAVE THEM TAKE NOTES!!!!
It's easy for a doctor to intimadate you, but with a friend, male or female, mom or dad, in the room with you, taking notes, even if you have to hire a caregiver to go to the appt. with you!!
IT'S WORTH IT!
NEVER GO TO DOCTOR ALONE-- THEY WILL INTIMADATE YOU-- have the person take notes, and ask the doctor for a copy of the chart and notes they are writing about you.
DOCTORS DON'T LIKE TO MAKE MISTAKES, A WITTNESS, A FRIEND IN THE ROOM, OR CAREGIVER, OR ANY PERSON, KEEPS THEM ON THEIR TOES!!
GOOD LUCK AND IM OR EMAIL ME.
self care is #1
go back to your doctor, see another doctor
go to the ER!!

Doctors will never admit to problems from surgery because they are afraid of the liability. That's the bottom line.
