it really was uncalled for. i had a lot of respect for wade... up until i heard he said this about dirk. i mean come on! he would be upset too if his team won the first two games and then lost the rest. the mavs put up a good fight but they lost and dirk said what he did out of frustration due to the fact that they were so close to being champs. if i was in dirk's shoes, i would have went off too. i guess wade took it the wrong way, but he had no right to knock on dirk's leadership like that especially when everyone knows what a great player and person dirk is. just because wade has a ring and got finals mvp, it still doesnt mean he can make anyone else feel lower than him. but what gets to me most is that dirk didnt even say anything back to wade's comments... mark cuban did! he could have, but he didnt. just goes to show you who the bigger person here is. i mean, if dirk wasn't such a great leader, then why do the mavs have the number one record in the entire league right now??? next time d-wade needs to learn to think before he says something so stupid. he shouldnt even talk... his "leadership" couldnt even bring his team up to .500 without big shaq!!

wade = good player + big ego

Have you read what Cuban wrote on his blog? It's kinda true what he says, about Wade having boring commercials and spending most of his time at the free throw line. Personally, I think Dirk is a better leader than Wade, so yea, Wade shouldn't be dissing anyone, especially since his team is barely in the playoffs.

Funny, even what Cuban said too, but whats bothering me is how Dwayne Wade hires his own doctor to take drug tests instead of using the team doctor. I think some investigation should be done here, its possible true that he is using and abusing steroids. Perhaps Dirk and the Mavs organization should mention that.

Definitely uncalled for. He should shut his trap. His team is in 8th place in the EAST!! Wade got 20+ free throws per game after the 2nd game of the series, which is another issue I won't go into. If Dirk got 20+ free throws per game, I guarantee this year would be the 2nd championship run for Dallas.

You can't hide on the court, you either bring it or get it taken from you. At crunch time, I want the ball in Wade's hands, not that the big fella hasn't got game, Dirk does, he just doesn't have the ability to elevate his game like a Bryant or a Wade.

Any seven footer is gonna be a day late and a dollar short against the elite guys, thats just the way it is.

I think it was uncalled for for the simple reason that he isn't in the Maverick's locker room, so who is he to judge what kind of leader Dirk is?

Dirk leads by example. He doesn't cry and complain when he doesn't get the calls. He doesn't b*tch out his teammates on the court during the game.

What more do you want in a leader?

I must have missed that, but if he said Dirk wasn't a good leader then I'd have to agree with him. Doesn't look like players really look up to Dirk and I've seen numerous occasions when he was yelling at teammates. He's one of the best in the league, but I don't think he does much to make his teammates better.

And I don't think you can much stock into the Heat sucking so far this year, they've had a lot of injuries and champions always seem to coast through half of the year before finally waking up, especially Shaq's teams for one reason or another.

Dwyane Wade has never said anything to anyone else. Dirk was trying to make excuses for Miami beating them, and Wade does what a leader does, stepped up and backed his team. That is why Wade is a better leader, he leads by example, winning championships and taking over games when he needs to. Dirk hides in the big games and then tries to make excuses. Dirk is always going to be a loser, just like Patrick Ewing and Karl Malone, they always get to the big game but can never win it. As far as Cuban's comments, who the hell cares if Wade's commercials, which are hilarious, are boing to him, Wade wins the big games.

I don't know why the free throws thing is a big deal. If Dirk drove and didn't settle for fall aways he would be shooting many more free throws as well. Being able to get to the line is a talent not a criticism.

wade was just defending his team. no one thought they had a chance and then dirk, was like they didn't take it, we gave it to them.come on regardless of what happened i knew my heat were not built to play against your mavs, and then something happened. you know wade does not publicly put himself in a bad situation, but i think the whole thing was taken out of context. is anyone talking of lebron bashing gay players about saying they are not being honest. is there nothing else to bring up bad about wade, so here is a chance to try and tarnish the guy?you guys are just as great if not better than you were last year, but the key is not to get complacent and seal the deal when given the chance. leaders are expected to take over, and since shaq was a non factor, d wade took over like he was supposed to. you would feel the same if the roles were reversed.trust me

Hahaha, D Wade shouldn't be talking. For a guy who fakes falling, cries when he gets called for a foul, and really can't shoot except for layups, leadership should be the last thing he talks about. Dirk Nowitzki is a great player, and he is the one putting up the points and rebounds and passing the ball around. Dirk is the next MVP.
(The heat stink this year--look at their record.) (Now look at Mavs record) (That should tell you enough)
