keep him on the frozen for sure. If he is the type that will eat the already dead ones, it is more humane. Just my opinion. I have firebellie toads. I hate the fact that i have to feed them live crickets. I am not a tree hugger or peta freak, I just feel that it is better. Unfortunately, I have tried the dead feeders and they do not eat them, but if they did i would switch. Only my opinion.

I asked that question and the response was "feed 'em live, its the only exercise they get. Not so. If you handle your snake regularly then there is the exercise. Yet i still feed live as i found a reputable pet shop where i get the mice and rats from. My problem with frozen is that you don't know how long its been frozen for and that isn't good either. If however you do feel you want to feed frozen, make sure you have the time to thaw them properly and please DON'T thaw them in the microwave as some parts of the mouse might still be cold and other parts may be so hot it will burn the insides of your snake. I think it is a matter of personal choice whether to feed frozen or live.

You should try to put a thawed pinkie in the cage, and if he doesnt eat it after awhile, you know that you have to go back to live pinkies. Im not sure the price of thawed pinkies, but i know that live pinkies from a pet store are pretty cheap, usually only a couple of dollars.

I get all of my snakes on frozen/thawed as soon as they will take them. Live food can cause problems later in the snakes life, pinks aren't dangerous but full grown mice and small rats are. If you wait it will be harder to get your snake switched over. Also, frozen pinks are a lot cheaper than live ones. My local pet store charges $1.00 per pink (plus tax), I get pinks from mice direct for 10¢ a pink, true that I have to buy at least 100 at a time and pay for shipping, but on the other hand I have over 60 breeding snakes. I would suggest finding other people in your area that have snakes that eat f/t and do a group order to save on shipping.

Frozen is the better way to go. It's what all my rodent-eaters get both for convenience and safety.
For one thing, as your snake gets bigger, he'll need larger food. Frozen mice don't bite snakes back!
Frozen is also cheaper in the long run. If you feed live, you either have to go to the store every time you feed, or set up a breeding room and have to deal with cages, food, smell, etc. You can buy frozen in bulk and put them in a plastic box in the freeze and pull one out whenever you need it.

stick with live if thats what your feeding if you go f/t then you risk the chance of stomach rot and killing off the snake if you dont thaw properly and live is alot cheaper then frozen anyways

Have you considered this more humane alternative?
