Considering valentines day celebrates love.... i think it would be discriminative against the rest of us singletons. Surely a day must be created to celebrate being single. And cards (beautiful) created so that we can also post some to friends and family. Or does anyone know of a country, place or people that celebrates this phenomenon? I might consider moving there for a while.

First, anbout Valentine's--I hope you have someone in your life to love--a friend, parent, whatever--it's just nice to tell them, and Valentine's is a perfect occasion!

About siglehood--if you're doing it right, every single day is your day! I enjoyed the single life until my mid-30's when I met my wonderful guy, and I wasn't sorry for a day of it. Don't you notice how when you want to go to a movie on the spur of the moment, your married friends can't go-they've got dinner to attend to, and forget taking off on a vacation-they have to talk to the BF or husband. Don't get me wrong, I love my sweetheart beyong measure, but I also enjoyed myself ALOT as a single person. It's your choice to be miserable--and that's not all that attractive to potential BF's, I can tell you.

Well Valentines day is after St. Valentine, so we should find a St. who never wasn't single and make it ____Day...

I'm single. I HATE being single on Valentines day, especially now, because my ex and my best friend just started going out.

I'm pretty sure there is no place that really celebrates it. But we should make one. How about February 15th is Singles day? We can get with all of our [single] friends!

I'll go if there is a place where they celebrate it!!!!...If I may?

The idea of a Singles Day isn't so bad.

However, there are other kinds of love to celebrate on Valentine's Day besides romantic love. Saint Valentine wrote his legendary letter not to a lover, but to a female student, his jailer's daughter, whom he was trying to cure of blindness. He signed the letter "From your Valentine".

Check out the local Hallmark or American Greetings store. You'll find Valentines to lovers, but also to parents, siblings, friends, and "for anyone". Go to your local drugstore and you'll find those classroom valentines you gave out as a kid.

A book called I Hate Valentine's Day begins its Chapter One with a question: "Remeber when Valentine's Day was fun?"

Expand your definition of love beyond romance, and Valentine's Day will be fun for you again!

I met up with four mates a few years back for valentines because we all were recently single. we went out clubbing and we all pulled! Think about it! Any one in a relationship is @home getting some, where as everyone out that night was looking to get some!

valentines is for whoever you love not just lovers - its for anyone at all .... I think originally it was created as a day where children were given little gifts and keepsakes from their parents?

I think that single ppl should have a day too! its not nice to be left out

I think if all the losers got together and had a get together on valentine's day it'd be great. If a guy couldn't get lucky in that situation he's a lost cause.

No such country, but if one does, I will join you and others!
For singles on valentine's day, at least I and my mates can get together, enjoy our freedom, and if we like, spend money on ourselves!
