the nearest beach to Orlando is the space coast.
And my beach is wayyyyy better(clearwater beach).
Miami is in the top 10 beaches in the world

Walt Disney World... Enough said... WDW is home to the most visited them park in the world (Magic Kingdom), with the other three not far behind.
I agree 100% about Clearwater Beach being a nicer beach then Cocoa, but Cocoa advertises like nothing in Orlando saying how it is Orlando's closest beach (which is true).

I actually like the Space coast better in terms of beachs. The water is way nicer looking and actually have waves. Clearwater beach is blah. And I was born and raised in Clearwater. The water is too warm, and not very "clear" what so ever. Plus the old people have taken over the place, and its all condos, was much better about 8 years ago before they tore down all the small motels and you were able to cruise down the main street without having to worry about cops handing out tickets. Plus Orlando has Disney World. Each time I go to Orlando, I get that kid feeling when you enter the candy store. So much to do and see there. Was there over the weekend, and felt like a kid again, loved it! Its not always about the beaches!

The theme parks bring tons of people in all year. Beaches are great, but not as popular at different times of the year and not everyone likes beaches.
For some reason or another theme parks keep bringing the people in. There are a ton of great places in Florida, but it just depends what you want to do on your vacation.
But I would say all the theme parks and things around Orlando is what makes it so popular.
