At the beginning of the day when I put on my makeup it looks great. I feel like I use a really good quality brand of eyeliner - smashbox- but at the end of the day when I come home and look in the mirror my eyeliner is all smudged and faded away. How can I get it to last all day long??

Well my eyeliner NEVER smudges, so listen closely =) haha

1. put on your foundation first, then apply some loose powder on your eyes to dry up the oil on your skin.

2. apply eyeliner as usual.

3. on the back on some eyeliner pencils there is a smudger thing, dip it in some midnight black eyeshadow and go over your eyeliner line carefully.

I started doing this about a year ago, not only does your eyeliner look the same with the shadow over top, but it lasts ALL DAY flawlessly.

hope it works for you too.

Use a waterproof liquid eyeliner. I've found that these last much longer than a pencil or cream formula. What I do is prep my upper lashline with translucent powder before I apply the eyeliner. This gets rid of any oils around my eyes that will cause the liner to smudge and smear. After I apply the eyeliner, I dust more powder on top to set it. My favorite liquid liner is Revlon Colorstay, but Maybelline makes a really good one, too.
Good Luck!

I have the same problem with MAC & Smashbox pencil liner. Switch to a paste type eyeliner & use a firm, angular brush to apply. It doesn't move a bit on me! I use Clinque & MAC Fluidline and apply on top of my shadow. I've also found the cheapo drug store kind works best if you must use a pencil.

i would stick with a water-proof eyeliner from Mac, mine is called engraved. it doesn't smudge at all. To really make your eye liner last use a liquid eyeliner first and the reapply over it with your normal pencil-eyeliner. this locks in the color all day into the night.

Another great tip to keep your eye liner looking great it to remember HANDS OFF!

It seems funny, but you never realize how many times you touch your face and eyes throughout the day... Try your best not to rub or touch your eyes, or lay your head down on your arm in class...

also if you have a PE (gym) class you may want to wear waterproof, or wash your face after and reapply...

most of all though.... remember the NO TOUCH RULE! You will be amazed at how well your make up stays if you make a conscious effort not to touch it.

Revlon Colorstay. Honestly, I have tried a bunch of other eyeliners. It is about 7 bucks, which is expensive for a drugstore brand, but worth it. It will definitly last and it is pencil.

eye primer works well for me. Urban Decay has a good one. The link I provided says it's made for eyeshadow to stay put but when I use it under my eyeliner I'm good to go all day.

Yeah.. smashbox is great. What I find most effective is to first put concealer, powder, and then the liner. It's great.

Ooooo, get this stuff by Benefit called She Laq, you put it on under neath your eyeliner, mascera, etc and it works soooo well to keep your make-up all until you wash it off!

Good luck!
