Try Gimp, Its a 2D software. You can download it for free for windows, Mac OS and LInux/Unix. . Go to http://www.gimp.org to download it. After you download it I suggest you read a free book about the gimp. The book is called Grokking the gimp, you can find it on the same site :)

adobe photoshop is the best one. I've used it personally and have created beautiful backgrounds and edited photos and done great yearbook work with this program. its a bit pricey but is totally worth it. there are tutorials online on how to use the features that this program has. you can shade, change colors, alter photos, make your own art work and so much more. I believe you can also download it from limewire or some other free downloading program. good luck and hope you have as much fun as I do. If you do have to buy it or download it free, beware of viruses [ if download free] get the higher version, they tend to have more options to create better works.

Professional Screensaver Maker this is some good I gave it a try and it's good also includes free tryout, you can make either wallpaper or screansavers.

wHAT U NEED TO GRAB "WALLPAPER SOFTWARE" U CAN EDIT ANY PIC THROUGH ms-pAINT AND tHROUGH Any "Photoshop(v 1 2 3 etc)..."actual work to make screen savers..how do
