If I want to become a teacher, (and am planning to go to Cal State Fullerton if that helps) which major should I choose?
I believe I would like to teach somewhere within elementary school ages. Thanks so much, and any advice is welcome! =]

Does anybody know which major (specifically) this would be at Cal State Fullerton? I know that they are highly recommended when it comes to teaching =] Thanks

CSUF is a great school for teaching. 75% of the OC's teachers graduated from CSUF's credential program.
Most people interested in teaching elementary school major in Child and Adolescent Development OR Liberal Studies. Other common majors for future elementary teachers are American Studies, History, Geography, and English.

It depends purely on your own preferences and area of expertise. I would prefer being a Foreign Language teacher or a History teacher because those are my strong subjects(ie I'm terrible at math). Understand that whatever field you choose should depend solely on what you KNOW you would enjoy teaching.

I would either choose Elementary (Childhood) Education, or Inclusive Elementary Education (this would include special education)

Why not contact a counselor there? They really are helpful and most of the time know which major you should chose. And if they don't know, they can at least point you in the right direction.
