How do you feel about McCain's mention on how he fears that Iraq might do something like the "Tet Offensive" which was done by the North Vietmanese in '68 (This resulted in a huge number of American causalties.)? He says he's afraid this would create a change of mind in a lot of Americans. A poll showed that 62% of American's think that going to Iraq was a mistake. He doesn't want this number to increase. How do you feel about what he has said?
Please, if you're conservative, don't leave a stupid answer.

And I personally am very worried of this because I'm leaving in 2 weeks to do convoy duty over in Iraq until august!

What I mean about this question is that, he's more concerned about the votes than the casualties. How do you feel about this?

Cruisinthru...While I your answer very noble and true, but only if the facts were that way. We (military) kill more civilians (out of fear) than terrorist. Think about it, you're in the desert, you see someone come over a dune, what do you do? Most of us just shoot them cause we don't want to take a chance. Little did we know, that was a civilian looking for help. I like your answer but, you're not realizing that it's not a country of terrorist, but an unjust war with many dead civilians. Yes we do get attacked, but look at the numbers. you don't think 600,000 insurgents attacked us on convoys and died with just over 3,000 american deaths do you? No, I'd say about 90% of them were civilians meaning no harm. I know if I was a civilian over there I wouldn't want to take on the US military.

The question to ask is HOW DOES McCain feel about YOU???
I heard he is a mean-spirited vile guy to be around with abolutely no feelings for you. Probably came that way after years in a POW Camp.
You can see this in the way he stands, a semi-crooked pitbull stance. UNREAL! I know he had war wounds but it sure looks like he's ready to clobber you or something.

I will add you to my prayers....I am conservative in idiology but think our government as it is now is a monster and a joke in so many ways. i've heard all the arguments about Iraq, bottom line is we are there right? what is the best thing to do cut and run and let Iran and all the terrorist groups take over? Or let our military do what it does best, stop all this politcally correct bs and let them do their job. How can a soldier do his job well when he has to worry about what will happen to him when he gets back to camp after having a fight with the enemy. There are ACLU lawyers practically jumping out of every fox hole to charge them with something. Bottom line is are we in the right trying to destroy an idiology that believes individual freedom is wrong and only their rule is just? I may be in the minority here but I say we need to crush the terrorists take away their will to fight and let freedom ring! I hate war as much as anyone but I hate what the terrorist organizations stand for far more. I hope you don't consider this a stupid conservative answer. If you do well I am sorry

Liberals feel free to answer as stupidly as you like ;)
How do I feel about what he said? I feel like a a lone oak tree on the top of a mountain where other oak trees are afraid to grow.
The possibility that their will be an Iraqi Tet offensive that will turn American opinion on the war seems unlikely because America's opinion has already turned on the war. With only the 38% who think going to Iraq was not a mistake.
American opinion has been turned and only a fraction of the amount of combat deaths.
More comparison's to Korea in Iraq than Vietnam.
America will never win another war again. Because another 30 years and Americans will not tolerate a single life lost, no matter how noble the purpose is.

How could it cause a massive shift? The Iraq war is already running on minimal support by the American public. I don't see it getting much worse.
This is a major concern of most people, I believe. No one wants to see these guys hurt, and the longer they stay in there, the longer they are at risk. It's all but been proven any reason we went in there has crumbled; it's time to leave, before it does get worse.

It is not Iraq that is the problem, but Iran in Iraq causing the problems. The terrorists know they cannot defeat us. They do know that with the help of the media, they could try and turn Americans against the war efforts. They know this because the media is more than willing to report any death daily and this turns people emotionally against war.

I seriously doubt that he personally cares more about the votes than the casualties. I am extremely skeptical of any media source that you may present as well (because of the bias) as fact or as backup. Unless it's an actual quote from him that has not been taken out of context. Don't get me wrong, I am not a McCain supporter and I am not defending him. Honestly, you will be hard-pressed to find a lot of good Republicans that actually like McCain. I'm just stating that I doubt he cares more about the votes, and i'm very skeptical of your "source".

clearly nothing of the sort will occur, but we will continue to have the ongoing Guerilla war. Its a civil war with several factions that are all simultaneously killing each other. When we leave (and we will) we will be accused of starting the worst human rights disaster ever. The scale of the killing and torture/imprisonment will truely astound people.

McCain abandoned the "Straight Talk Express" a long time ago. It's bizarre that he still has this patina of integrity.
Personally, I think he's taking large doses of psyche meds - he really communicates as if he is when he appears on interviews.

John McCain is no longer anchored in reality. he mixes his veitnam experience with novels and comic books he's read, and the teachings of Nostradamus. he is a typical idiotic republican.
