i bouhgt a car and i fond out that i need to get the title from a towing company but they keep saying they cant remember the car and ask if they have it in the computer they say they dont keep there records

I towed for years. You are required in most states to keep track of all towed cars. If you are towed from a parking lot or something like the when you were in violation they have to nitify the police first so that when it is reported stolen they can tell you what happened and they dont waste time looking for it. hope that helps.

One would think, especially since every time that I have had occasion to call a tow truck the driver always has a clipboard that he writes stuff on. Good luck, sounds shysty.

Get a statement from the BMV that says that they have the title in their name (company). Take it to the manager of the company and get them to apply for a new title. Once they have the new title have them sign it over to you.

If they don't want to pay or apply for a new title I would take them to court (if that is where you bought the vehicle). If you bought it from somewhere else that is who you would have to sue or get a refund from.

Yes they should. If they don't have records then how can they prove they towed someboy and bill them for it? Any good business should keep records.

yes and if they dont you could take the company to court and shut the company down or you could sue them
