Help! I have this page taking over my computer called protectionwarning.com!?

Question

I think I have a virus that makes my browser redirect to protectionwarning.com. Also, if I try to open another page it goes to asecuritybar.com? What is all this? My McAfee is up to date and Adaware won't find anything wrong? Please help if you can! Jim

mcafee shouldn't find anything, because what you have is spyware, not virus, and mcafee deals with viruses only. ad-aware should find it, maybe your adaware is not updated? if it won't erase this thing after uptade, try another antispyware like spybot

(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans .The updated version of spybot finds and remove all versions and varients of Zlob

(3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

It seems as if your browser got hi-jacked, I reccomend getting Xoftspy, and Get a better Anti virus, Avast is free, you can download that. Also Get "Hijack this" And Leave the List here.

it is a virus run, no but really get on if you can save your important stuff to a cd completly rebuild the comp and apply a virus blocker before putting the cds back on more the money the better the blocker

Since your homepage is pointing to http://protectionwarning.com/ , this means your PC is infected with a trojan called Zlob Trojan. Of course it is important to get rid of protectionwarning.com, but it is just as important to also remove the Zlob Trojan that implanted it there. In my experience, a program called SpyNoMore is your best bet in removing the Zlob trojan. By removing this trojan, you will also get rid of protectionwarning.com. Another symptom of Zlob Trojan is that it generates fake warning messages like:

Try doing a system restore to like yesterday. Hopefully it will get rid of whatever is happening on your computer.
