I was playing basketball, and this dude fouled me and pushed me down. then he tripped and almost fell on me but i rolled to the side and he landed on my left ring finger. it hurts like it's broken but i'm not sure. you can see this black mark right at where the fingernail like grows. it hurts. can anyone tell me any good treatments for it? THX

If it's black under your fingernail...then there is a blood buildup under it. When this happened to me before I used a needle and made a hole in the nail. This releases the blood and it helps clear it all up almost immediately. It also helps with the pain! Hope that this helps!

That does hurt. I played basketball last year and the ball bent my finger back i thought it was no big deal and the coach just told me to run it under cold water and pull..so i did and just went back to practicing..the next day it was darker, and it kept geting darker till my finger was pretty much black. just keep it like taped up or in a metal thing u can get them anywhere pretty much (wal*mart,Kroger..)

I did that a couple of weeks ago. A microphone stand slammed down on my finger, but don't worry it should get better. Give it some time. Get well soon!

if its black under your nail then its a build up of blood under there, u need to get a tiny drill bit and carefully with your finger and thumb twist it on your nail to release the blood, trust me it works.

You should go to the doctor, Have you ever been checked for diabetes ? It is better safe than sorry.
