i have used pc gaurd from telewest on various machines that i manage, had lots of issues with it, not very good. AOL seems a fairly good one and i have installed this on about 10 machines without a single problem to date, it has been installed for about 6 months on the other pc's. also download zoe alarm free, you cant beat it, spybot search and destroy and lavasoft se personal, they are all free and will serve you a lot better than virgin/blueyonder's one. aol suite was written and i believe is managed by kaspersky(one of the best) Panda have an online scanner which is good and will probably remove your virus, dont know because you have not listed it. also checkout this site when you are back up and running www.grc.com, look in the free programs section and run the various test's, this will help you close any big security holes in your system, you are bound to have 1 or 2. If you do all of these things and are careful you will be very unlucky to encounter any problem's. the only neg side with aol is that there is a bit of a loophole that could possibly allow spam through, give it a go and see.

Dell Tech is correct goto Trend Micro Housecall when you get there dis-able your own anti virus ( not the firewall ) and then scan ok , its the best , will also take out spyware too , this available at trend micro free anti spyware , spybot is a good program , it does not find trojans believe me , type in trojan hunter in your search bar download it from Mischel Internet Security ver 4.6 , free 30 day trial and it works , it is not a free scan then buy , it is free for 30 days ok , good luck.

(1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one if your present anti virus is not protecting you .
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(3a) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Crapafee can, fairly some the time, get rid of what it unearths, the subject with crapafee is that that's a valueless AV software. Comodo internet risk-free practices is loose, and lots greater efficient than crapafee, so is Avast.
