I am a newly dumped stay at home mom with two adorable kids. I need all the assistance i can get at the moment and am wondering if anyone in my area can tell me of any programs to look into? Any suggestions would be great.

Department of Human Services. They have an office, I think, on Cedar Hills.

Anyway, you have to get there early in the morning but you should only have to do that once. They'll try to help you with rent and groceries, maybe even transportation money.

St. Vincent's DePaul also has a families in need division.

Portland Freecycle folks might help you out too. Google it, it should come up.

ok i'm not in Oregon... but this is my suggestion. get on welfare, they have day care based on pay, or should. file for child support, for immediate cash, apply for TANF (also thru welfare) dad will have to pay the support that way or they will report him and click click!!! go to your local churches and see about food banks and clothing (it should be for free)!!!! apply now for HUD and Sec.8 and go from there. Good Luck!!!!
