I don't think the Blues will leave St. Louis. The Blues are locked into a long term lease agreement at their arena; and the NHL Board of Governors would not approve a move unless the lease, and the breaking of it, were settled first.

The Blues have a lot of history there in St. Louis and a storied rivalry with the Blackhawks.

I just don't see the Blues going anywhere.

If there is any NHL team that's truly on the bubble right now, it has to be the Pittsburgh Penguins. There are any one of three or four cities which would embrace the Penguins if they were to pull up stakes and leave the Steel City. Kansas City tops the list, as the Penguins have been offered free rent for the first couple of seasons if they move to KC and become the anchor tenant of the soon to be completed Sprint Center.

Not a chance. They have a fairly new arena, and St. Louis is a good market when the team is playing well. Hopefully JD can turn things around there. Plus they have a great rivalry with Chicago. The Blues are not moving. And didn't Dave CHecketts just buy the team? He's certainly not moving them now at this stage.

St Louis Blues are under contract to stay in St Louis thru the 2010-2011 season I believe i read in the past (maybe this is thru the 2008-2009 season shrug). They had to make a deal so the city would build them there new Arena. Once the blues start wining more the attendance will increase significantly.

Buddy, if we were still in 1986, Bill Hunter would've moved that team to Saskatoon. But today, whoa, there is no chance of that happening! Now about the Pittsburgh Penguins.... that's a different story.

I think if Dave Checketts wanted to move the team to Salt Lake City or someplace else he would have done it already. For now, they're safe in St. Louis.

I don't think so, they have an arena. They have a good farm system that should help them bring back fans in about a year or two. The penguins are more likely to move even thoguh they don't want to.

No, historically they are one of the stronger US markets. The Blues will turn it around and by 2009 there will be no talk about moving, only about who will be their opponent in the first round of the playoffs.

Sure! They are going to move to Kansas City, just like the Penguins and the Predators...and they're all going to play in the new Sprint Center!

No. The Blues new ownership is doing a fine job and with Dave Checketts and his partners in place, they will not move.
