Did you handle her everyday since you got her? Because you need to, to keep hamsters tame.

Keep trying to handle her daily. Wear gardening gloves if she is too bitey. Keep it up, and she'll probably stop.

NEVER wear gloves. EVER. Hamsters hate gloves, with a passion. They will bite you even more if you wear them; the gloves scare them.

Ruby, your hamster, is more than likely to be just defending her territory. My hamster Mocha did that. If you put you hand in her cage she was mean. Once she was out of the cage is was so sweet.

Ruby, also might not be tame. Therefore, you should hold her daliey. Try to do it when it is nighttime, that's when hamsters are awake. If she bites you don't show her that it hurts, because if it does hurt than she knows it and she'll do it again.

Is it a dwarf hamster? I used to have one and they just arent very nice. But I dont really see a point in any hamster, none ive had even the teddys liked to be handled. and i just gave up on the little furballs, they arent good pets as far as im concerned.Get a rat, they dont bite are extremely smart and love to be held and played with and are absolutely wonderful for kids.If you think im joking go to the pet store and ask a worker to take one out for you to pet. youll fall in love.

hampsters are not very long lived and it might be painful for her to be handled....or, do you make sure and wash very time before handling her? she may be smelling food, or she might just be getting old and mean
