my opinion is that Tony Romo is not bad, and probably in a few more years he will be alot better. a lot of people tend to judge him on his last few performences...because the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" kind of leauge
it is not that Romo is bad, but when he first started, no one had any ideas about how he plays, and had no videos on him. in fact alot of teams just blew him off thinking that he won't be much of a factor, and did not do much to figure out how to stop him. this is why i say he is not a bad QB, he does so well just starting out. once 3,4,5 games passed, now teams have video on him and figured out how to stop him. that why suddenly late in the season he started to decline.
so i don't blame Romo for what happened, and i really think that we should see how the beginning of next season goes before we judge him, so i completely agree with you, give him a break. (ew i feel dirty defending a cowboys player lol)

On the field Tony Romo i thought would be a cool person to meet ,but to tell you the truth the company i work for has done work at his home several times and he was there, but acted as if you wasn't good enough to even say hi to or even speak to,so how you see him on tv is an act,he's nothing like that in person,he's an i'm better than you type ,just wonder if all the cowboys are the same way, that changes my whole way of thinking about Romo, maybe thats what Carrie Underwood seen and ran as fast as she could the other way,has anyone else seen this side of Romo.

Tony Romo jogs my memory of Jay Cutler to a definite quantity. the two are incredibly, incredibly solid at what they do, yet have little flaws that shop them from continuously being super. He tries greater advantageous than the different QB interior the league to make something out of no longer something which finally leads to a penalty of a few style or a turnover. He must be greater clever than that. there is no longer something incorrect with throwing the ball away or each and every now and then taking a sack if it is going to shield the possession. so some distance as him getting a bad rap, I disagree. For besides the fact that reason, being the commencing QB for the Cowboys consists of greater weight than being commencing QB for everyone else. while issues are going nicely he gets the credit and while that's not he gets the blame no count if he merits it or no longer. You gotta take the solid such as you're taking the undesirable. that's element of what being a pacesetter is. Now that a solid character is long previous, he has to step into that place. that's going to be exciting to be sure the way it is going.

Nothing is really BAD about Romo. He has a huge upside. A lot of people compare him to Favre. If he's even 1/2 as good as Farve was, then things will be looking good for Romo and the Cowboys in the future.

He's the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Anyone in that position is going to take crap when they struggle. He's under more pressure because everyone expected so much from him. This year was basically his rookie season and yeah, he doesn't deserve the criticism. He didn't deserve to play in the pro bowl either. I think it's because he thinks he is a celebrity. People don't like the guy who act like a superstar but doesn't preform like one. This season was probably like a roller coaster ride for Romo and next year he should do much better.

HE'S NOT A ROOKIE! HE'S A FIRST YEAR STARTER!
I think that everyone's just giving him a hard time. You're going to take criticism if you mess up and if you're a starter. For example, look at Rex Grossman. Even though he had his down games, he's lead his team's offense to a 13-3 record. That's a good record for a first year starter. People should be a little easier on first year QBs.

Theres nothing wrong with him, he had an excellent rookie season.
People hate him for two reasons
a: ESPN covered him nonstop, most real sports fans hate ESPN 'cause its terrible sports coverage and they only focus on the huge name teams
b: People except perfection at all times. Granted Romo made some mistakes but he also guided that team to the playoffs. He should have never been holding that snap in the first place. But Bledsoe is to much a prick to be relagated to be a place holder.
Romo is going to be a good quarterback for years to come!

Birdie, to answer your question.. I'd have to say nothing. He's going to be a good-to-great QB in time. He made the Pro Bowl in his "might as well be" rookie season. His snap at the end of the Seattle playoff game WAS tragic, as you stated. I felt more sorrow for the kid than I did myself. He was nervous... the thing I liked is that he didn't give up just because he fumbled the snap. He kept driving towards the goal. That is something that every player needs (like your Randy Mosses), but so many lack!

I think for being a Rookie he did great. Everyone is giving him grief for blowing the big game. But what they fail to remember is that the Cowboys wouldn't have made it to the "big game" if it weren't for him in the first place.
So what if he made a mistake on the field goal. Anyone else on the team could have blocked for him so he could have made it into the end zone. It wasn't all his fault, one man can only do so much.
