I am blonde with hair barely past my shoulders. And I don't want completely shocking colors. I save those for the concerts.

I'd go for neutral, or pastel pinks, BUT STAY AWAY FROM BLUE, it will clash with the colour of your hair. Um, maybe also a neutral brown, but not anywhere past a medium. Remember, the smokey effect is the lastest, so you dont always have to use your eyeshadow. Try smudging in a slate eyeliner. Also, pinkish blush works good on almost anybody!

Try looking at pictures of celebrities such as Drew Barrymore and Jessica Alba. The reason I said this is because from your avatar pictures it looks that your hair color is very similar to both of those people's hair color. Also the magazine "In-Style" is awesome for stuff like that, as well as Allure. I would try to find a web site with virtual makeover technology. Good luck.

Depends if you are talkin about lips, or eyes, of foundation, but my hairs the same and i tend to use a lot of purple eye-shadow, and LOTS of mascara, and eyeliner, it brings out your eyes, and your hair. For your blush or foundation, just light things that are not to noticable. And for lipstick, either a ruby red or a clear gloss. If i were you i would focus on my eyes mostly. Try purple eye-shadow, and do not buy a cheap kind they don't work (try revlon cream eye-shadow)

Hope this helps
Good Luck!

It also depends on your skin-tone, but I think pinks or browns(tawney shades) would work. I use this GREAT eyeshadow from Clinique called sunburst I love to death. You should try it!
