There is no way you could return a positive home pregnancy test 72 hours after having sex. If you have tested positive then you would have already conceived before this.
It takes about 10 days - 2 weeks after intercourse for a home pregnancy test to start to detect pregnancy bornones in the urine - at about the time your next period is due if you run on a regular 4 week cycle.
However, you sound like you are all over the place with your periods, in which case the only way to confirm exactly how far advanced your pregnancy is would be to see a doctor as soon as possible. The can take a blood test to measure the hormone levels in your system and perform an ultrasound to measure the fetus. Both of these methods (along with your memory of when you had sex) will give them a resonable idea of how many weeks along you are.
If I were you I'd be making an appointment at the clinic as soon as you can.

It usually takes 10-14 days (on a sensitive test) after ovulation for a test to show positive. So you must have already been pregnant before the the intercourse you are taliking about.

No, your test will not show a positive this soon. Not even close. Its possible to test 5 days before a period and get a positive result, but the best time is to wait until you are due for your period, or the day past.
If the test was positive, it means you were pregnant from the month before and you didnt know it. Its possible to have a period and be pregnant. It happened to me with my 1st child.
Go to your doctor if you got a positive test!!!

Yes. Clear Blue Easy tests are great. Get the digital ones, they come in a double pack. Pregnancy tests can now detect pregnancy hormones earlier. I think testing after your missed period is ideal, so with that I'll say within one day after your missed period is the best time. Good luck. I don't think I answered your question, but I hope that this can lead you along the right path.

Maybe you were already pregnant and did not know it..After 3 days you have not even concieved yet...It normally takes several weeks after your last period to get a positive...I would get a blood test to be sure. Are you sure your not reading the test after ten minuites because then they all show positive and are invalid. Best wishes!

If it's been since September and you tested positive, I would say yes you are pregnant, but I also think you should visit a doctor. Certain areas have free clinics that have the privacy law enforced and will tell you if your pregnant based on your blood, but i think you should try the clear blue pregnancy test, that one....................................... never lies.
