im 7weeks pregnant and im wondering when do you be sent for your first scan.

I had my first ultrasound at 4 weeks..second at 7 weeks..third at 9 weeks and fourth at 12 weeks..due for my next at 20 weeks to determine the sex...All offices are different on what weeks and how many they do.. Best wishes!

At 20 weeks.
But that's because I'd been told I'd miscarried at 6-7 weeks, and we thought I was pregnant a second time, and, since I hadn't had a period, no one knew when I'd conceived. Then the doctor felt my uterus and declared I was either MUCH further along than 6-10 weeks, or I was having twins (which do run in the family). So, he sent me for an ultrasound.
Turns out I didn't miscarry. At least, not my little Katie. Since my hormone levels DEFINITELY declined after the miscarriage, the theory is that I miscarried one of twins.
Who'd have thunk it?
I had a second at 32 weeks as part of a BPP when I began bleeding and was 2 cm dilated. Nothing wrong. I just had a screwy pregnancy.

It really depends on the area you live in. Some areas offer a 12 week scan, whereas if you live 10 miles up the road you will only get a scan at 20 weeks. You need to get in touch with your local team of midwives and ask them.
Don't assume it will be booked unless you have been in touch with the midwives - nothing gets done automatically!

Im 13 weeks tomorrow and I had mine yesterday! Think its supposed to be at 12 weeks but I was a little further on than i realised. I got my appointment through the post about 3 and a half weeks before the actual scan!!

Generally at about 12 weeks. Remember to take change because in some hospitals u have to pay for your scan photos. Normally they are only a couple of pounds and the money goes to the baby unit.

I got my first scan at 12 weeks, but it all depends on what state you live in. I was in Seattle, WA when I got that scan and recently moved to Maryland and they don't do a scan until 20 weeks. Good luck and congratulations.

normally around 12 weeks and your midwife will sort the date out for you and the next scan is around 20 weeks where they check the baby from top to toe. Very exciting for you, good luck and dont forget to take some money with you as my hospital charges for the photo's from the scan.

I had an "internal" ultra sound at 8 weeks to confirm the date of the pregnancy, and again at 13 weeks (part 1 of a downs screening), and I will have another at around 17 weeks (part 2 of the downs screening ultra sound). It really depends on how old you are, and what your insurance will pay for.

a womans first scan is usually around 12weeks however this can depend on personal circumstances. My wife had an early scan at 5weeks with this pregnancy due to her previous history. If you have any concerns then see your midwife or gp asap. good luck
