I am a cheerleader and I was wonderning if it is a sport i think it is!

YES! I have been a cheerleader for 10 years and have suffered f broken noses, a torn rotator cuff, 5 concussions and 3 knee opps. Cheerelading has the highest level of injury and fatality due to the stunting that we do. Now, I do not think that middle school beggining level cheerleading is a sport but when you get to national competitions... then that is a serious sport... you have to be a trained and conditoned althlete to do what we do... so when people say that its not a sport dont let it bother you... there is no way they could throw a double full layout or throw a corkscrew basket toss... so its just stupidity... YOU GO FOR IT GIRL!

I have been a cheerleader for about 10 years and I would have to say it is definately a sport. Throughout those 10 years, I have experienced and witness injuries that could compare and exceed those gained on the football field or basketball court. It takes extreme focus and physical ability. It is an all around total body sport that requires determination, dedication, and complete edurance, strength as well as spirit.

the definition of sport is physical activity of a competitive nature.
Competitive cheerleading is definetly this.
I am a cheerleader and yes working hard is part of being a sport but so is having a team
Remember football players throw balls around! Cheerleaders? we throw people= ]
(oh and just so you know cheerleading is on TV)

yes cheerleading is a sport becuse in my school they are on allowed to do cheerleading in the 7 grade and up

My daughter is on a competitive cheerleading squad. They work harder at this than many baseball, basketball and football squads in high school. So, yes, I would say it is a sport.

i am pretty sure it is a sport. it could be a hobbie 2. But i think its a sport.
