I guess it would depend on how old they are, and how responsible they are. It doesn't matter if the baby is by someone else, but hopefully your brother realizes the responsibilities of having a relationship with a child involved, and the possibility of her ex being involved in their lives. Many women tend to try again with the baby's father because they want their baby to grow up in an ideal family setting, so your brother should be careful that he doesn't get in over his head, and really get hurt.

If I were him I'd wait a few months or maybe a year before getting involved with her. A new baby is a huge responsibility and will take up most of her time (or at least it should). It's also alot of baggage for your brother to be taking on. Also what about the babies father is he still in the picture? Sounds too complicated to me.
