well, it was the same as before the war--NYC, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, Charleston, New Orleans

Same as before, although many sustained damage....don't forget Atlanta in the above list, plus Richmond....just exactly is a BIG city in your thinking anyway? In 1860-65, most cities were called towns...
