yes, those Germans bombed everywhere in europe, and they had a right old go at London, they called it the blitz, they killed many thousand civilians, and blew my Grandads warehouse up while he was in it, on the docks in London, he was employed there as a carpenter, making warehouse doors. but he managed to survive,by hiding under a door he was building, they were very thick and heavy those doors, and after he retired in 1950, he moved to a place in Essex called Doddinghurst, where he lived until he was almost 94 years old. No but my mum was, she was 17 and worked making parachutes, she lived in Solly street in town. She remembered the Marples being bombed, but didn't like talking about the war much.

i was in Sheffield at the time and our house got bombed and my brother was 17 and in the war he fought and he's still alive today!
