It would cost to much. The braille wouldn't last to long due to the amount of times its being handled.

Canada does. Perhaps the US just hasn't considered it, doesn't care? I don't think it costs that much to put it on the bills and it doesn't affect change machines or pop machines ability to recognize the bills. Definitely would be nice for those who need it and there are a lot more people who need it then you may think, even the elderly with poor eye sight would benefit. It is something they should look into.

Most of the countries that I am aware of that make accommodation to the blind with paper money do it by making different denominations in different sizes. Not an impossible or difficult thing if you leave the one dollar bill the size it is now for vending machines.

Why should we? With about a million blind people in the country, that sounds like a huge, tax payer expense for nothing. After all, blind people aren't going to drive themselves to the store to go shopping, they will always have a companion with them who can count the money.

A better idea would be to implant a chip in the forehead or the right hand, and no man would buy or sell without the chip.

Yeah, really. What is up with that? How rude to dismiss the problem by saying they can use debit cards!
