I use to really respect Oprah, but lately she has been bugging me because it seems like she is a racist in her own little way. I dislike people who preach about being part of the human race, and then hypocritically root for and celebrate their own race, every chance they get.

Because she comes off as a middle-aged suburban white woman, I have more "blackness" in the toenail of my little toe than Oprah could every hope to possibly purchase.

I have no idea! But I know a few middle-aged suburban white women (as you call them) who do not like Oprah.

She is what they strive to be. A rich and independent woman. Most of the topics at hand aim towards that crowd within the range of social issues and family. Plus I think its a sheep affect, one loves it, sees others like her watch it, a place of home for them. Its during a prime time of day when most stay at home middle aged suburban women are ready to sit down and take a rest from whatever they may have been doing to watch some TV, and it seems to be the only show on at that hour which would appeal to them. Oprah also loves to leave well-off middle aged women presents under their seats during the holidays (like they really need it), but that may be an extra incentitive for them to strive for.

Because she is portrays views and the life which many of those "middle-aged suburban women' would like to have. The media is a horrible thing. Any time a women or man gets on TV, and talks about nothing, people listen. People need assurance, especially women. Oprah creates an illusion which these women blindly follow. Plus, all the stuff on TV is bs anyways, but people dont have the foresight to see past the lies.
Oprah appeals to those little emotions such as "aww how nice" or "i can do that". Many more usless phrases could be used to describe her persona however all are simply summed up as bs. All those people like, dr. phil, oprah, ellen, they are all so full of it and all the knucle-dragging, mouth breathing, mindless people soak up ever word.

Oprah has too many psychobabbleists on her show. Ellen DeGeneres is more in tune with the real. That is what the women want, though, A feel good fix to all their problems.

I haven't watched Oprah in a couple of years. I do remember one of the things that attracted me to her show, her openness to all races. She didn't have to act "stereotype" black to make a point. She speaks clearly and educated. She doesn't stoop to Stupid programming like Jerry Springer. I think a lot of women(not just "middle aged Suburban White Women") are drawn to Oprah. She removes a lot of fences.

They have a lot of free time between watching soap opera's and calling in an order for the family's dinner for the night, so they watch oprah.

It's sad to say but if Oprah didn't have all that fame and fortune white women wouldn't give her the time of day. It's sad but true. They really love her when she gives them a bunch of free sh**t.
