If you can't choose a correct answer....I'm not sure I'd want you to be my nurse.
Maybe that's a sign....choose something a career that might be a little "easier" for you.

Good study skills vary from class to class. There is no particular "right" way to study, because you have to change your style depending on your professor's style and how he relays the information to you.
Here are a few different types of professors you might encounter, but definitely not all, and how I study for their class:
1.The first type you might encounter are the ones who mainly assign reading and they pull most of there questions from that text.
To prepare for the test, make sure you read the material, even if it takes forever. I would even say read it twice if you can make the time. It's very important while reading to try your best to understand the concepts being presented and ask for or look-up help if you don't. Also remember to study the key terms if any in the text (usually bolded and almost always applied to the test).
2. The other type are the ones who don't assign hardly any reading, but mainly lecture in order for you to get their information.
To prepare for their tests, be sure to listen! listen! listen! and take notes while they're talking. You may not be able to write every single thing they say, but just write what you believe is the key information. Sometimes you can tell by the professors gestures and tone if you need to really remember it, but this just takes experience and will better with practice. If there is something that you do not understand, don't be afraid to ask the professor at another time. You can even ask a fellow student.
3. Everyone has that one professor that no matter how well your study skills are, you still seem to have some difficulties.
My advice for these professors is maintain your optimism. Let the professor know that you are really having a hard time grasping the material. Sometimes if they realize you are really trying to do your best, they will try there best to help you understand.
Don't let the two low grades you've already received discourage you in any way. Try your best on your next tests to not overthink what the questions are trying to ask. Sometimes we make questions a lot more complex than they actually are.
I also found this website that has an abundance of information on how to study: http://www.how-to-study.com/

Are your tests multiple guess? If so 2 are always wrong. Of the last 2 there is something wrong with one of them. Don't think about the answer too much or you'll read too much into it. Remember, always choose the answer that will keep your patient alive until your shift is over. If one of the answers is all of the above, that is most likely the correct answer unless one of the above is clearly wrong.
My instructors would always narrow down info for the test like this: well if you don't need if for this test, you'll need to know if for the state exam, so learn it all. I used to cry before every test, but only got close to failing only one of them and that class I just passed with 1 lousy point (my OB rotation).
Nursing school is hard, but some instructors make it harder than what it needs to be. Before you sit down for your test eat a piece of hard candy, it will give your brain some added glucose to think with. Get a good nights sleep before each exam. There is no easy way to get through nursing school. Take good notes in class. Anything the instructor says is important and could show up on a test. If it is written on the board it will be on a test almost guarenteed. I always did poorly with true & false questions. Still do for that matter. Right now I'm working on my Master of science in nursing education.
Just remember, what you are learning now, someone's life will depend on in a few years. Maybe that will encourage you while you are studying. Oh and if you are in an associates program and think about going back for a BSN later to get better knowledge... what you are learning now is ALL you will ever learn about being a nurse. All of the other programs focus on management or professionalism. Good luck to you.

You have to make a schedule that will plan out your studying times. Like, if the test is on Friday, and it is Monday, then you just studying like a half an hour or an hour, depending on how hard you think the test is, a day. You have to pay attention and take A LOT of notes. Concentrate on studying and do it well. No one can really tell you how to study, besides saying to do it a lot, and well thoroughly.

You have to get as many senses involved as possible when studying. Say the stuff out loud, you will hear it and retain it better, come up with little codes that let you remember stuff that has definitions, write it down over and over again, make flash cards. When taking the test, underline key words in the question if it is multiple choice, and if you know an answer is wrong cross it out. Also, don't be afraid to skip questions, you can always come back to them later.

when i was in nursing school i always tried to make outlines of the chapters because i can't just read and retain information and i would study from that. a lot of our tests weren't about the information as it was using some common sense and critical thinking. good luck i hope it turns around for you. don't get discouraged and keep trying.
