Just wondering, my daughter is currently 16 months old, and I am now 4 months pregnant with my second child. Those that have had two kids, were you excited with the second as much as the first???
Is the wives tale true that your second labor is half the time of your first???

oh and P.S. don't get me wrong its not like I don't want this preganancy, I just notice I'm not super duper excited.. but it took my hubby and I 6 yrs to get pregnant with our first, so I think that may have something to do with it???

I know just how you feel- my husband and I have both had this problem. Our first daughter just made 2 in December and this baby (another girl) is due April 7th and we are just now getting really excited. It took finding out the gender for him, and for me it took getting big and "feeling pregnant" and the kicks helped us both. This was a surprise pregnancy but not unwanted, we were probably going to start try for another this year, but for the first almost 6 months we were both kinda "blah" about it, almost like it wasn't happening. I'm glad to know we aren't alone, because we love both of our little princesses!!!

I think I was more excited for my second only because I was 19 when I had my first and was scared. I didn't know how anyone would react but after I told evryone I couldn't wait to have her. My second was planned so I was happy just to be able to have another baby. I'm not sure if it's true about having a shorter labor but I hope that it's not alot shorter because I have to travel about an hour to get to the hospital so I hope I have time to make it

I was excited with the second one, and more relaxed. Since i knew what to expect and what was coming my way. My first pregnancy i was in labor for 11 hours and pushed for an hour and a half. with my second i was in labor for 3 and half hours and pushed for a whole 5 min before she was born. I know everyone is different, and it maybe true or not true for others.

I was excited about my second pregnancy, but then I had my kids twelve years apart. There were times where I felt like I didn't care, but it was just a passing phase. As for the labor part, I definately think that is true because my second came a LOT fast than the first one (thank god!).

I was just as excited with my 2nd pregnancy.

However, my labor lasted wayyyyyy longer. With my 1st, I was 0 cm dilated at 6 pm and 10 cm dilated at 8 pm. I had them give me an epidural immediately when I checked in because I was having back labor and figured I would be there for a while.

With my 2nd, I was in labor for almost 7 hours. I had wanted to do it naturally (I'm not really fond of needles and the first epidural was done poorly) since I figured I would be labor for less time. I finally gave up and got an epidural and almost immediately I was 10 cm.

I figure my body reacts really well to the potocin (sp?) they give you when you get an epidural.

Morning ailment close to instantly. Hips the identical as after the primary, after a few weight lack of path. Water broke on its possess. Labor went so much faster (an hour and a part with my moment in comparison to 7 hours with my first) Gained much less weight whilst pregnant with my moment. More conscious of the truth that if I did not like the way it smelled to not hassle consuming it considering the fact that it would not keep down besides. Much worse temper swings. Went up yet another cup measurement, did not with my first. Showed plenty quicker, seemed like I was once having twins, with my first I did not exhibit till 7 months.

I wouldnt say I am as excited. It is still quite a shock and we were not expecting it. I think with time it will be more exciting. I am 9 weeks now and have my first ultrasound on the 28th of FEB.
