No, people can grow up. There is usually a reason for cheating...lacking something within your relationship. If you are getting everything you want and need from the person you're with...emotionally, physically, etc...you'd have no reason to cheat.

Not in all cases does once a cheater always a cheater apply.

While cheating is always wrong, even God in scripture cautions us the we are not to withhold but for an agreed upon amount of time, (allowing us to devote more fully to him,) less we cause our mate to be tempted.

What you have to do is look and find out what the circumstances of the cheating was. With some, it is as much because the other person wasnt taking care of business at home as anything. Under all circumstances cheating is wrong, but then, if the mate was not fulfilling their obligation to the spouse by giving it to them regularly, they have to take part of the responsibility.

If the cheating wasnt because of the above, blow them off as the cheating sack of crap they are. You only have to give them one chance.

You need to think about the concept of "cheater". Men are biologically oriented to spread their seed as far and wide as possible. Some guys keep it under restraint, but some don't. Are they "cheating" because it is fun or forbidden fruit or is it that they are being forced into an artificial situation that is doomed from the start.

It depends on how he acts after the fact. How he eases your pain, how sexy he makes you feel, how you feel wanted and if all that happens, I say he could change, but I was cheated on 5 years ago and I'm still paying, Now I am being brainwashed to think his cheating was my fault. I know what a good little faithful wife I have been... It just won't end and here I sit 10 years into a dead marriage with 3 kids all at age 30 and somehow I've managed to keep my looks and head together, but I know I'll have to end this if it gets any worse.

If he would just look at me like he used to things would be fine, but if your like me and have been waiting years, then I say no he won't change, mine has only treated me worse in every aspect.

No, I think there are many varied reasons a person cheats. The reason someone seeks a relationship outside of marriage is huge. If a person is missing something in a relationship, they may be tempted in ways they never were if they were being fulfilled. A person in a truly happy marriage is very unlikely to cheat. If they do, it is more a character issue. Like maybe they just are not trustworthy. If they cheat because something is missing, they may never be tempted to cheat again, if that need is being met by their spouse.

NO

People are not perfect and make mistakes. They can truly regret what they did and never do it again. It's up to the person they cheated on to either accept that they are remorseful and work harder on keeping their relationship alive or break-up because the breech of trust cannot be repaired.

Did you know that in the Bible the only acceptable form of divorce is if a spouse cheats? I think that God knew that this is very hard to humanly overcome and made a "way-out." Although, he did also say in the Bible that he prefers the couple to try to work on it first...

I used to believe that, and to a degree I still do. I also think that a couple who wants to get things back on track could spend a lot of time putting the peices back together. I don't think that there is ever a reason to cheat. The images of your spouse with another person never go away. You may forgive, but you'll never forget. The person may never cheat again, but because they have done it one time, that's how they'll be labeled.

No, I cheated once about 9 years ago. I can honestly say that it was a mistake, yes I knew it going in but never imagined the hurt I caused my wife. Was the affair worth her pain? NO! There was some bad things going on in our marriage at the time, but nothing justifies what I did. She forgave me and it took a while to get things back to the way they were before my affair, but I have been blessed with a wonderful woman and she fully trusts me again. We are happily married and coming up on our 16th wedding anniversary.

Pretty much, yes. I've not been cheated on, nor have I cheated on anyone, but I do believe that many who cheat are repeat offenders, either to the same person, or that they cheat in each relationship. Although there are probably a handful who paid such a high price, or had such remorse that they never do it again, but I think those are rare.

No, I don't believe it. Humans change. The bad person might turn into a very good one. I always remember this short story: " Of the shepherd who lied and told the villagers twice that a wolf has attacked his sheep herd, but at the third time he was right but the villagers didn't believe him because they generalized and thought he might be lying".
