The major outcome of this war so far will be more people dead on every side, stronger and more motivated groups with goals of retaliation, a more hostile middle-east, and America's image will become more tarnished. How can you say you are a superpower when you are losing the respect of the global community through your over-confidence and inability to even attempt to admit or correct the mistakes we've made.
The military will soon be out of Iraq, and into Iran. And then the real question is What will be the outcome of the war in Iran? Remember a war in Iran has the possibility of being a war involving not just the U.S and Iran but Iraq, Israel,Syria, China, Russia, the U.K and maybe even Pakistan, India,Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, North Korea and Venezuela.
And once this war has been waged and we bring peace and tranquility to the Middle East and have killed every single terrorists and no one in the entire world has any bad feelings towards us anymore we will still have to end the genocide in Darfur.
And maybe once this is realized and the possible outcomes are given serious consideration people will stop saying "We were still right" and "Send more troops" when the number of troops will never be enough.

1) Eventual pullout of forces. We won't be there forever.
2) Fragmentation of Iraq into three autonomous sections, Kurds in the North, the Sunnis in mostly barren West and the Shiites in the SW.
3) Turkey invades the new Kurdish region the day after it is formed. This forces the US to choose between allies so we don't. Turkey eventually captures the new upstart Kurdistan and its oil.
4) Proxy war between Egypt/Saudi Arabia backing the Sunnis against the growing Iranian threat. The US supports the sunnis (oh the irony) to counter growing Iranian hegemony. It basically becomes a low intensity conflict and massive Hezbollah training ground.
5) Iran joins the nuclear club. Hello nuclear arms race. There is an increased chance that Hezbollah gets the ok to use nukes on Israel. Remember, these loons are willing to die if only to wing you...they will certainly engage in nuclear no matter the consequence.
6) Oil through the roof. Hello 100.00 Opec Reference Basket.

I dont know. This war will not end anytime soon. The Middle Easterner's will just keep coming and coming and the terrorist organizations will never stop running out of people until America kills all of Iraq. You kill one Saddam, another person will replace him.

The war is won, however, I feel that the President is keeping forces in Iraq as a staging ground for Iran! If he has his way, we will be taking them on before it is over. He is already setting the stage for attacking, listen to his speeches & the grumblings that he is making, the veiled threats; all a prelude to an attack or provacation for them to attack us in Iraq.

The soldiers will come home, Iraq will have a rough go for awhile until they figure it out, the cons will be screaming about future terror attacks, and things will quietly calm down.

More people will die. Many more people. Iraq will remain unstable and dangerous until such time that a Saddam Hussein-like figure emerges to suspend civil liberties and take real control of the country. Civil liberties are great and all, but it's hard to enjoy them if you're dead.
Unfortunately, there's only one way to rule in the Middle East.

I'd like to see a long term base in Iraq, some good trade with the country, and a great new emerging market bringing its expertise to the world.

I believe that the most important thing will be that the Islamic terrorists will no longer believe that they can slaughter thousands of innocent people with impunity - the consequences will be quick and severe.
