I have been having contractions since 8 p.m. last night. I went to the dr this morning and he said I was dilated to 2.5 and had bloody show. This afternoon the contractions became regular every 10 minutes, but now, they have slowed down and become irregular again. This has been going on for 22 hours. Anyone know if it is real labor or not?

Well, if your DR didn't seem concerned then I doubt you should be, but since it kept going on I would go to the ER just to be sure, I am due with #2 in less than 2 months and last time had similar issues, ended up stopping then less than 48 hours later went into labor so either way going to the hospital to get checked out couldn't hurt, the worst they could do is send you home! But if something is up, like the baby could be in distress, it's better to be safe than sorry!

How far along are you? With my last son, I was in labor for about 12 hours and it wasn't real regular until I went to the hospital (after I couldn't stand it anymore). Some women never have "regular" contractions, so that could be completely normal for you. If it gets too bad, call your doctor or just go to the hospital. You could be well on your way to having a baby :)

Yes, this sounds like labour to me. I'd go to the delivery ward at the hospital and get a triage midwife to check you out. Sometimes labour can start and stop and this will distress your baby - if labour just goes on and on (called failure to progress) then you may need a bit of help to get the child out.

It's proabaly real.... get up and walk around... go to the mall for a while. You might just be one of those people who are in labour for days.... that sucks!!
Since you are already 2.5cm dialted... I would head to the hospital when they are 5 minutes apart
